Hi,

read that it is posible to move some Plugins from the <PATH>/plug_ins directory to a directory named Optional in Windows to spped ub the application start.

If i understood right that meens that plugins only loaded on demand and not on application start.

Is there the same possibility in Linux? Because the same trick does not work for me. If you move the plugins the Reader start is really fast but plugins are not loaded any more.

Thanks in advance

Gavin

OK. What does these Optional directory do under Windows and is there a similar one in Linux to spped up?

Bacause without the 45MB of standard plugins the reader starts in around 10-15% the time. And under Windows this theems to be an option.

There you can put unused plugins. You can create a similar directory in Linux.

OK. Thanks.

Thought it would be possible to load some plugins on demand and not on startup.

Optional sounds like that this is possible because I read something about a plug_ins_disabled directory too.

OK, have to look for another way to speedup the start. Maybe its possible to daemonize the reader like OpenOffice Quickstart.
