I'm not really finding anyone complaining about this, but I have to deliver this update to +/- 5,000 computers and I'd prefer not to install Adobe Air, Adobe.com, and leave a shortcut on everyone's desktop called Adobe.com. I do have an .mst prepared by the Customization tool for version 9, which I used for version 9.0, but what I have set for Air and Adobe.com isn't being applied. I have tried using the link contained in the email which allows access to the "non-bloated" version for re-distribution, but it only links to version 9.0. I'd prefer not to build en entire script just to delete a desktop icon and uninstall two things from the system right after i just installed something. Am I alone here?

No, you're not alone ;o) Once you have installed the program just delete the following registry key and you're done: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce\AirShare Regards, Wolfgang

Thanks but I don't see that key listed, and I'm not entirely sure that's going to get me anywhere. I'm trying not to install AdobeAir or Adobe.com as well as not place the Adobe.com shortcut on the desktop. I'm not seeing where the runonce key relates to that.

Of course you have to delete the key before you reboot the machine. I had the same problems that you encounter and my solution worked fine for me. However, in the meantime I found a version w/o Adobe AIR on Adobe's FTP server. As I don't know whether or not I am allowed to post the complete link here, just go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com Then navigate to pub, adobe, reader, win, 9.x, 9.1 and then to the language version you require... awesome. that's just what i've been looking for. i did find that by hacking apart the msi with an editing tool got me to the same spot, but i think i'll revert back to using one of the official versions above. editing msi is always a last resort in my book. thanks again guys!

The Adobe FTP location for the same file is: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.1/enu/ The more basic file, without AIR and other stuff, is the smaller file. See file: AdbeRdr910_en_US.exe

I would never recommend to download any software from 3rd-party sites; always download from the original authors' sites, i.e. <http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.1/enu/AdbeRdr910_en_US.exe>
