We use Adobe Reader Active X Control (AxAcroPDF) to display PDF reports in a windows application GUI. We have been successfully using version 8 and lower and have never had any issues. Starting 9.0 there seems to be an error when you exit the application. The error is listed below:

"The instruction at ... referenced memory at ... The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program."

OS: Windows XP/2003
Reader: 9.0
RAM: 4GB
Platform: .NET, C#.

How can I best clean up any Adobe resources specially knowing the fact the Actie X component no longer relies on the Reader EXE.

I have the same problem when displaying a PDF using the .NET WebBrowser component. I have recreated the error in an application with just a few lines of code.

The error is displayed only when Reader 9 is installed. The same application exits flawlessly with Reader 8.x.
