Adobe reader 9.0 won't install

Alex Dmitruk - 12:02pm Feb 21, 2009 Pacific

running windows xp with sp3 have removed version 8.0 and ran windows cleanup utility. I then tried again for the umpteenth time to install adobe reader 9.0 and get this error message (Parameter is incorrect, file setup.exe, info id 87.3175.10.2.20.0.20

What am I doing wrong or missing?

I had the exact same problem here, with the installer that downloaded via Adobe's standard processes. The installer simply disappeared after it got to 100% with no error or explanation.

I solved it with Paul Schuesler's suggestion, of using this file:

ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.0/enu/AdbeRdr90_en_US_Std.exe

Just paste that address directly into your web browser, download and run. It was the AdbeRdr90_en_US.exe file in the same directory that seemed to be causing the problems.
