Set myParaStyle = myDocument.ParaStyles.Add 
myParaStyle.Name = "1st Para" 
myParaStyle.AppliedFont = "Times" 
myParaStyle.FontStyle = "Roman"

Set myParaStyle = myDocument.ParaStyles.Add 
myParaStyle.Name = "2nd Para" 
myParaStyle.BasedOn = myDocument.ParaStyles.Item("1st Para")
