... which kept bombing InDesign. Cut down to the essentials, here's the script:
tell application "InDesign 2.0.1"
set find preferences to nothing
set change preferences to nothing
tell document 1
search for "..." replacing with "^t"
end tell
end tell
If I run that, InD quits. If I try:
search for "..." replacing with "^t^t^t"
it works. I tried several different characters and itterations, and the key problem seems to be that if the text in "replacing with" is fewer characters than the text in "search for", the program bombs.
I tried this both at work and at home. Both machines are running InD 2.0.1 and Mac OS 9.2.
Can anyone else reproduce this & prove I'm not nuts? And can anyone think of a workaround?
Thanks!
Jay
