The funny thing was that I wasn't getting any error. InDesign wouldn't start but in the task manager it would be shown as running and using resources but never do anything. After this would happen InDesign wouldn't start at all even when I tried to manually. I would have to reboot. I finally decided to take a different approach. I wrote a NT service that keeps an eye on the directory where the ASP creates the xml file. The service then renames the file and kicks off the original seperate .vbs file to process it. It may be a little overkill but it works so far. The only thing is I have to play around with some settings so that it can print. Right now it isn't finding the printer. I think this is because the service is running as 'localhost' and can't see the network printers.
