Dave said: I don't like the amount of screen real-estate consumed by the Scripts palette and I'd love to have a way of accessing scripts more easily. Both keystrokes and buttons come to mind as possibilities. exactly A valid question is: should Adobe be puttiing effort into this, or should users invest in, say, RealBasic and roll their own? There's a couple of issues here. Firstly I think it is something that could/should be considered - an enormous amount of development time has gone into scripting support (and the ability to assign key commands) so it makes sense that the two things could be married together. We've agree this would help reclaim screen real estate. Secondly, I don't think RB is the solution (even though I do have it here). I already have a bunch of other utilities that could run the scripts from a key command (dragthing, OneClick, Youpi key etc) but by using these you pay a performance penalty from running them within ID. The difference in speed is amazing when scripts are run from the ID script palette as opposed to just about anywhere else. It also makes the automation less transportable. FWIW, we currently use Apple's own Script Runner which is very small and has nested folders for organisation of scripts but key commands is the way to go. cheers kim
