Gerald Singelmann wrote about adding pdfmarks to a file

What you can do (or, what I've done, anyway) is script the creation of/placement of EPS graphics containing pdfmark operators. When you print PostScript to disk and then process it with the Acrobat Distiller, the pdfmark EPSs add hyperlinks, etc., to the resulting PDF.

The key point is that the pdfmark extensions to the PostScript language are *only* implemented in the Distller. See http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/acrosdk/docs/pdfmark.pdf <http://partners.adobe.com/asn/developer/acrosdk/docs/pdfmark.pdf> and http://www.adobe.com/products/adobemag/archive/pdfs/98smdsok.pdf <http://www.adobe.com/products/adobemag/archive/pdfs/98smdsok.pdf> (page 69-70)

Thanks,

Ole
