How do I set properties?

I need to get all locked items, move them about, and then lock them again. So I thought I could use something like: 

 tell application "InDesign 2.0.1"     set myDocument to active document     set myLockStatus to page items of myDocument whose locked is true     set properties of myLockStatus to {locked:false} 

 

But you can't set properties of a variable. So what the best way to do this be, bearing in mind I have to lock these items at the end of the script
