A TextFrame ought to have a Fit method, just like a PageItem, but it doesn't. (Even if it did, it would only work for unlinked text frames that are larger than their text content--just like the fit command in the user interface. And it would only take the idFitFrameToContent parameter.) 

Take a look at the FitFrameToText example script for a variety of tricks for fitting a text frame to the text it contains. 

Alan, if you're monitoring this thread, I think we should add the Fit method to TextFrame--let's put it on the "to do" list.
