Okay I think I figured it out, but not totally.

myRecordSet.Fields(j).Value <> Null

is not False, it's Null. I read somewhere that Null propagates through the expression, but now I understand it.

So how does someone test for Null?

OR

How do I get TextFrame.TextContents to accept Null without throwing a fit?

Ben
