Cliff--

I think that we should understand, up front, that our AppleScripts have to be restructured to work efficiently in RealBasic. It's often quicker to let RealBasic do most of the work. Take, for example, a script that manipulates strings in InDesign. It's may be quicker to have a script return a string to RB, process the string in RB, and then return the string via another AppleScript than it is to turn the process over to an AppleScript that does all of the work.

Whenever you're looking at a scripting task that involves RealBasic, you need to think: "Is this part of the task best accomplished in AppleScript or RealBasic?" Sometimes, this means writing lots of RealBasic code and very little AppleScript.

Thanks,

Ole
