There's something about the way your tagged text file is constructed that InDesign doesn't like. The filter should be rewritten to be more robust (and, for that matter, more capable and less buggy<g>)--but, in the meantime, why don't you send me one of your generated tagged text files and let me see if I can figure out what's wrong with it. 

Also--which platform are you using (Mac OS/Windows)?
