Direct way in CS4 to export selection as PDF, EPS or JPEG?

Does CS4 offer any direct way for an ExtendScript to export just
selected objects as EPS? Or JPEG or PDF?

I know I could copy the objects to another temporary document, but
that seems like an awful lot of overhead. I'm going to be
partitioning each of hundreds or thousands of pages into multiple EPS
files, and creating temp documents seems like it would add a lot of
overhead.

Thanks,
