AS: InDesign CS4: Missing links do not show path anymore?

Hiya! Preparing to move to InDesign CS4, and opened a document where the links were missing. In CS2 with AS you could still get the old path to where the link was pointed to, but now if the link is missing AS returns "". ?? I can still get the file name, but that is fairly useless..
I know the path is still retained somewhere, because the link pallet UI in InDesign shows path, and the path is there...
Anyone have any ideas?

Place an image in a document, save and close. Zip the image file up, then delete it. Reopen the document. It's basically anytime an image link is missing. CS2 used to give you the old path to the file, CS4 give you nothing. "

CS4: 6.0.1 Mac OS X: 10.5.6 So you actually get a path returned? Oooooh.. This is a CS2 originated document, opened by CS4, unsaved. Hmm. More testing.

Looks like it's a CS2 to CS4 conversion error. Once the file is re-saved as CS4 the link still doesn't return the path, but the UI does show it. Bah.

Hi xyz3, Rather than just saving the file, try exporting as IDML, then open the IDML version. I'd be surprised if the file path doesn't appear after that. Thanks, Ole

Still missing in the IDML version. Good thought though. :) Nate

I guess if I have to I can get the name, and read the indesign file directly and look for matches... Pain though. <stRef:lastURL>file:///Volumes/Graphics1/Cat%20Apparel/AR09_FallPrev/All%20Images/JPG%20SELECTS/3_12-3_13/77508/77508_DG_297.jpg</stRef:lastURL>
