Hi all - I have what is probably a very simple question. I have a Table which spans a number of pages in Indesign Each page has a different applied master - but the frames are named the same e.g. "TheCoolTableFrame" and the Table sits inside these identically named frames. (though does not always take up exactly the entire frame) My question is - if my table spans 3 pages say, how can i tell the height of the table in each individual page? regards Bruce

I presume this is a scripting question. You have to cycle through the rows checking the parent text frame of the text in the first cell of each row. Not very convenient I'm afraid. Dave

But if the parent frame is always named the same on all pages - then this wont work will it? Bruce

What does it matter what the name of the frame is -- or more precisely the label? They are different frames and you can distinguish them in many ways. Just comparing them will give a false result. Dave

Turns out the solution was to keep track of the height of the table as you paginate - ergo can keep the sizes in an array. Also turns out that it was a bad choice of attempted solutions as i need to know the different in height between the last row of the table and the bottom of the text frame containing it (the table) - useful when populating the table through XML as i need to know when to paginate ! anyone got any thoughts on this one? Bruce
