I've got a document open, and also the Character Styles panel. One of the styles is selected, and, if I create a new text frame, the frame's contents will have that style by default. I need to be able to get and set that default style. Any suggestions?

Found the answer. You need to use app.activeDocument.textDefaults.appliedCharacterStyle.
