I think streamline should be incorporated into Photoshop, not Illustrator. That way, you are right there if you need to make changes to the tif you are trying to streamline. You can trace an image in Photoshop CS using the create path option but it doesn't create objects with different color values when you export the paths to Illustrator. There might be something tricky about it that is the reason it hasn't been upgraded to OS X yet, but I don't think there is a lack of demand for it. It is a gem of a program if you know how to use it, and far better than any other "tracing" feature I have used.
