Thanks for all your suggestions. I guess I'll go make the change to en dashes; I'm lazy and I was hoping to avoid that!

In Goudy (my version), the minus sign at alt-0173 and the hyphen are both slanted. It appears my only option is to use the en-dash.

My laziness becomes a problem because there are the temperature ranges "-40 degrees to +80 degrees", other ranges such as "1-20 Amps/hour" and "RS-232 output", etc. and part numbers like "63-001-02".

Do I use an en-dash for all of these? Could someone give me more details on the freeware Noah solution? I have no money for new toys; my fonts are probably knock-offs and not the real deal, and there are potentially thousands of situations where this problem rears its ugly head.

Thanks again.
