I work for a charity and we want to put low-res PDFs of our
information booklets on to our website.  Testing the PDFs, I'm having
trouble printing the low-res version from either Reader 6 or Adobe 6
Standard running on Windows XP.

I get a high-res version of the booklet from our designer (30MB) and
create a low-res version by using Distiller 6.0 for Windows, producing
a file of 785KB.  If I try and print the low-res version I get a
"document could not be printed" error.

(I can print the high-res versions perfectly well.)

Everyone else in the office, running different OS or earlier versions
of Reader, can print it - Windows 98, Mac OS 9, Reader 5 - but when
any of the Windows XP/Adobe 6 users in the office try and print it the
"document could not be printed" error comes up - some of them get a
"drawing error" message.  We've also tried printing it to different
printers as well and that doesn't work.

If it matters, the original booklets were produced in QuarkXPress and
then PDFed using Distiller 4.05 for Mac.


Most of the reasons for the error message(s) that I can find on the
web seem to do with memory problems � if that was the case then I'd
presume I wouldn't be able to print the high-res version?
