Oh yes. I've been using and paying for it since version 3.0. So I wouldn't know much about the ad banner, except that it is smaller in the most recent versions. Of course I'm the only person I know who paid for Netscape so maybe my position of supporting commercial efforts I like isn't popular. [Note: Opera is a browser company who makes their money from the sale of browsers for computers, cell phones, etc.]

I've tinkered with Firefox and the other Mozilla applications and actually use them occasionally. The latest versions of Firefox, Mozilla and Thunderbird are loaded on my PC. But I use Opera all of the time. IE is only used for downloading OS patches and the like. Side by side I find it significantly faster than IE and about the same as Firefox. (I'm referring to version 7.52 on a fairly fast PC. With differet versions and equipment, your experience may vary.)

As for the Interface in Opera, I like it very much although I'm not sure what you mean by "not very pretty". If you're speaking of appearences, there are hundreds of wildly different skins available for download at the Opera site and others as well. Many of these support interface and control changes so it can be configured to individual tastes and preferences. I especially like being able to use the Z key for Back and the X key for Forward. Every other browser I've seen requires a key combination or reaching over for the mouse.

But I didn't know about the extensions or how they are used in Firefox. I'll have to look into them and probably use them for sites where they give me an advantage.
