After years of fighting and war, there is a ray of hope for Afghanistan.
With the new government in place, infrastructure can be rebuilt. Water,
electricity and telephone service can be restored, brining this war-torn
nation into the 21st century.

The internet will also play a big part in the rebuilding of Afghanistan.
Individuals and businesses, the government and educational institutions will
all need to use the internet to help them rebuild.

To aid Afghanistan in rebuilding, ADNS has created the AFGHANISTAN.EARTH
Network Information Center. On this page, any non-commercial organizations
(aid agencies, governments, health organizations) can have a link added to
this page. Space is also available for graphical public-service type
announcements regarding the rebuilding of Afghanistan.

To reach the AFGHANISTAN NIC, please visit http://NIC.AFGANISTAN.EARTH (or,
if your browser gives you an error, http://199.5.157.17).

If you would like to submit a link for inclusion on the NIC page, please
send email to info at adns.net (use "@" instead of " at ").

ADNS plans to create programs to help Afghanistan join the information age.
One of the biggest assets that a nation can have is access to information.
Without it, no nation can thrive in today's world and economy. Afghanistan
must jump onto the internet in a big way.

The first of the ADNS programs was launched today. Until March 31, 2002,
domains ending in "AFGHANISTAN.EARTH" can be registered at a discount. A
one-year registration is only $5.95 (normally $14.95) and a five year
registration is only $26.95 (normally $62.95). The EARTH top-level domain is
NOT an ICANN-managed top-level domain, but is visible in the inclusive
namespace, where between 7 and 12 percent of the internet now get their name
data.

ADNS is the holder of the top-level domains EARTH, USA, Z and AMERICA. For
more information on ADNS or to register a domain under any of these TLDS,
you can visit the ADNS website at http://WWW.ADNS.NET
