It said that it required an initial investment of only $6 dollars! So my
first thought was, "Yeah, right; here's a scam." But I  was curious, so 
I kept on reading...

This is how it goes : You send $1 dollar each to the 6 names and 
addresses provided.  You then place your name and address at the bottom 
of the list and post the article to at least 200 newsgroups (there are 
thousands.) NO CATCH!!! THAT WAS IT!!!!

I spoke to a few friends and family; I carried a copy to the Post 
Office;I called the Better Business Bureau.  So far as I could 
determine, nobody could find anything illegal in it.  Okay, I thought, 
just what do I have to lose?  Six bucks and a few stamps, right?

I did it. And GUESS WHAT??

Within 7 days I started receiving mail. I was getting money in the 
mail!!!! Within 7 days I had received $25 dollars.  By the end of the 
2nd week I had over $1,000! In the 3rd week I had over $10,000 dollars 
and it's still coming rapidly!!! This is now my 4th week and I have made 
just over $42,000 dollars and it's coming rapidly! I truly was shocked, 
delighted, amazed and bursting with excitement!!!! Can you imagine?

It's certainly worth 6 stamps and $6 dollars!!! I've spent more than 
that on candy and soda pop!!

I receive 5 letters that's $5 US dollars with my name at #6

Now each of the 5 who sent me a $1 US posts theirs to 200 newsgroups 
each with my name at #5, and only 5 people respond; that's another $25 
US to me.

Now those 25 make their lists with my name at #4 and only 5 people 
respond; that's another $125 US to me.

Now those 125 persons send off their 200 postings with my name at #3 and
only 5 respond.  I get $625 US. Now those 625 people post off 200 posts
each and say 5 respond with my name at #2; that just got me $3,125 US.

Those 3125 people will all deliver this message to 200 newsgroups with
my name at #1 and then send it off to 200 newsgroups.  I get
$15,625 US with an investment of just $6 dollars plus postage for six
letters.
