Gwinett Place Honda tried to charge a 5% surcharge when we traded my
wife's car in on a new 1996 Del Sol. I wanted to put the $6000+ on my
Visa so that I could get Delta FF miles (6000 miles is 1/4 of a first
class ticket for me. :) Well, finally I paid with a check. After
calling Visa International, they said that they were allowed to offer
a cash discount, but NOT to inpose a surcharge. They are going to do
an investigation and notify them that they can't impose a surcharge.
If they do, they risk losing their ability to accept Visa.
