Done the Mandrake Thang ..... Liked it to a point... usually where my dependancies got so balled up. Dude, Try Connectiva 6.0, from Brazil. They have integrated APT into rpm management .... which is good for those of us that don't have 16 hours a day to debug the stuff... They also have the mondo KDE2 desktop for those using a gui. Drake is ok, but like Red Hat is overated. Point is, the people who worked on Connectiva seem to have taken into account some very important ideas. One, for thier economic structure, Paying royalties to MS forever is dumb. Two, people really do not care what the run.... as long as it is stable, and upgradeable. Three, the install process is as easy as Caldera's or Drake, easier than RedHat and with apt running in the backround... for some odd reason... everything you install works.... provided you listen to it and install the dependacies.
