I did a fresh install of Mandrake 7.2 to my computer. It ran fine (the install) and then things started getting weird. 1) it hangs at boot up (it gets so far and then just seems to stop - never getting to the KDE login window); if i boot into failsafe, and startx things work fine though (in both root and normal user modes). any input? anybody know about issues related to this? 2) when i try to run netscape, the monitor gets shut off (?); this is in a closed LAN environment (with a win95, win98, macG4 all daisy chained to the same monitor/keyboard/mouse and hub to my DSL connection) which could matter, but i don't think I know why. I can switch through the other systems, come back to Linux and shut down NS and things work fine. anyone have an idea why this may happen?
