Hello all, I have a bttv848 compatible PCI Tv Card (It's A Miro Media PCI TV Card - circa 1996). It works perfectly under win with the miro drivers, but unfortunately Miro was taken over recently by Pinnacle and I am quite sure that Miro offer no support for Linux users. The card, however does run under Linux but it's a matter of configuration. I've been trying off and on to configure it for a long time now, but I've not had much luck, I reckon I'm quite close now: I have found a bttv848 driver on www.rpmfind.net - It installs fine with no warnings (although it is an rpm!) when I run it, It wants to use /dev/video to display the output. I don't have /dev/video. doing a cat /proc/pci lists: Bus 0, device 11, function 0: Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Bt848 (rev 17). Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 10. Master Capable Latency=32. Min Gnt=16.Max Lat=40. Prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe30000000 [0xe30000008] I imagine all i should need to do would be something along the lines of (as root) #cd /dev /dev# ln -s /dev/device_on_irq_10 /dev/video it's just i don't know what or how to assign that device on irq 10. please tell me if I'm completely wrong. There are no specific howtos on this subject, I have looked. Please don't flame me. Many Thanks In Advance, Alistair Ross.
