I am the sole user of a Linux PC connected to the Internet via telephone. Therefore, I have Sendmail set up to queue messages. I notice that Sendmail expects CHMOD 700 for /var/spool/mqueue/, which is owned by root. But of course, this wouldn't allow me to queue messages as a normal user, so I changed the rights to universal access (which doesn't make any difference in my case). Does anyone know how mail queueing works in the case of a "real" mail server? How do queued messages enter the queue securely? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
