Help!!!

I have Redhat 6.2 running on my system and in the past bit I've been having
trouble with the mouse pointer running ammuck on me. I can start to click on
something and all of a sudden the mouse will take off to the right or up
top, just about anywhere it wants to go. It will also do a right click and
popup a menu or will max/min a program I have open.

Does anyone have a clue as to what might be doing this?
I've had this system for almost a year and I've not switched the mouse or
anything, it was doing it before I upgraded from 6.1 to 6.2, I was hoping
the upgrade might fix it but it hasn't.
