Most ISPs pass their DNS nameserver IP addresses to the client through PPP.

Check out pppd man page;

man pppd <enter>

Look for "usepeerdns" - place this directive in your /etc/ppp/options files.

Create a symbolic link from /etc/ppp/resolv.conf to /etc/resolv.conf like
this;

touch /etc/ppp/resolv.conf <enter>

ln -s /etc/ppp/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf <enter>

When ppp connects it creates dns entries in /etc/ppp/resolv.conf which are
symbolically linked to /etc/resolv.conf - the standard Linux position for
this file.
