RedHat 6.1 not seeing all memory

I got an Abit BH6 with 256M RAM and RH 6.1 is only seeing 64M RAM.  In
lilo.conf I put in append="mem=256m" and rerun it but it still seeing only
64M.  Any Advice is appreciated.
