hi first off i want to run a small network at home wiht a amd 133 as a
server wiht ipchains and ip masquerading and a pIII 450 as a client i want
the pIII to look to the server for its inet connection(do i need to set up a
proxy)?i have been trying to set up nfs when i boot nfs list as being
mounted but i cannot do anything..lol im pretty new to networking so please
bear with me.im running rh6.1 on the two puters using realtek8019 cards and
i have them
configured at least i can telnet to each puter my etc/hosts
file looks like dev/hdc5 / ext2
defaults 1 1
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,owner,ro
0 0
/dev/hdc6 swap swap defaults
0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy ext2 noauto,owner
0 0
none /proc proc defaults
0 0
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620
0 0
192.xxx.xxx.xx:/hda1 / nfs exec,dev,suid,rw 1 1

and my etc/hosts
192.xxx.xxx.xxmystical.galaxy mystical
192.xxx.xxx.xx mysticalone

and my etc/exports well not sure what i need to put there

this is what my client looks like.. cant mount using the mount
command...can anyone help me in finding what im missing for the nfs and how
to get my client looking to the server for its inet
connection tried configuring netscape by giving it the ip address for the
server but the only thing i get is a coformation screen that i have appache
configured properly and i have configure apache lol.. oh by the way dont
know if this matters but im running kernel
2.3.42 on the client and 2.2.14 on the server which i will soon have
ipchains and ip masquerading .the howto got me to where i am now
which is lost.any help would be appreciated thankssss.
