If yes, how can I do that Maxime: We need a bit more information to answer these questions. However, I'll try to give you some basic answers: You need to have the VIA Rhine (that's the 100BaseTX chip on the DFE-530TX) code complied as a module or as part of the kernel. Does the network this computer is attached to using a DHCP server to assign IP addresses. If not, you need to know the static IP address that will be assigned to your computer. Your computer needs a name. Netconfig will ask you for it. Your computer needs a domain. If this is a small home setup, consider using your ISP's domain (stcommunications.ca). If you let it, netconfig will locate your DFE-530TX and make the appropriate adjustments to the startup files in the /etc/rc.d directory. You must have Samba compiled into the kernel or installed as a module to access a WFW/Win95/Win98/WinNT machine. On the Windows machine, the resources you wish to share on the network need to be marked shared with or without password depending on the security you need. If you use passwords, be sure to tell Samba you are using encrypted passwords. The best thing to do is buy and read a book on Samba. Barring that, at least see the SAMBA-HOWTO. HTH. Ray
