Hello DOSemu experts�.. and anybody else.

I am trying to get around DOSemu�s (with MSDOS 6.22) lack of record locking.
I have tried setting up both the Samba and Mars file services and
communicated to them via their respective shells through DOSemu but my
record locking test software fails.

If DOSemu is used to communicate with say, an NetWare 3.12 server then my
record locking software works correctly. Which means that the NetWare shell
is handling calls to remote servers calls but the local calls are fudged.

This is a little weird as the shells must work over the protocol stack and
external workstations accessing either Samba or Mars run the software
correctly.

Does anyone know a workaround? Is anyone extending DOSemu to include record
locking? Is there another product that includes this?

I also can�t seem to get a DOS Microsoft networking client communcating with
the outside world or even Samba. Is this due to the restriction of Netbios
not being able to work over an IPX bridge?

My test record locking software opens a 100 byte file, locks a few bytes,
attempts to lock the same bytes again, which should fail, and then does this
at offsets 1000 and FFFF which are past the end of the file. Locking past
the end of the file allows a lock to be placed at a known offset which will
be respected by write ops but read ops without the offset will succeed.
Anyway it has worked correctly on all DOS platforms except DOSemu.
