Hey guy,

Don't freak out just yet, there is a solution (that is, if you haven't
already started over).

You'll need to run LILO (the LInus LOader) to be able to select which
kernel to boot at boot time. This depends on the file /etc/lilo.conf.
Take a look at that file (if it exists) and post what's in it. Basically
the way it works is that /sbin/lilo (the LILO executable) reads the file
/etc/lilo.conf and installs the pointers to all the kernels that you
make available (specified in the conf file) into the master boot record.
That way, when you boot again, the BIOS starts reading the master boot
record, and LILO asks you which kernel to boot.

You can either post here or email me directly at
loundry@mindspring.fish.com (remove the "fish" when you email me). I'll
be happy to help you out.

Regards,
Jimmy
