I thought y'all might be interested.
Soon there will be more people access Intrenet on their portable devices
than on desktops ...
And that signal has to get to them somehow ...
And if the information I have just found is accurate ...
I may be coming to you from the subcarriers of the large broadcasters
that are boring so many of us to tears with the zillionth rendition of
"Squeeze My Lemon"
Not that I have anything against Led Zepplin, but there ARE other cuts
on the album!!
Which is where I started this quest, and now I have possibly discovered
the biggest possible piece of corporate welfare to happen since ... I
can't imagine since when!
And why should you care?
Even if you don't care about music and news variety on the airwaves ...
you ought to care about the possibility that the main way of accessing
the Internet will be filtered by a truly transnational behemoth that
does not even have to live by the open access rules of the common
carriers, the telephone companies ...
And will you even realize that your access to the Internet is being
filtered?
And does LINUX run on the 2006 version of a palm pilot with multimedia
capabilities so that you can listen to your favorite bitcaster walking
to the cornr store ... ?
