Help with IP Masquerading !!

I'm totally new to LINUX. I've read most of the help pages available eg.
http://www.linuxgazette.com and also here http://www.linuxnewbie.org
But still can't get IP Masquerading to work !! :(
I'm using SuSE 6.2 all network stuff compiled. Managed to get DHCP server to
work !! :) but not IP Masquerading.

I think it's got something to do with gateways/DNS ... cos when I access the
internet with Linux it's OK ... but my Windows PC just reports DNS errors
... I think

Any help is greatful :) ...... my last resort would be getting RedHat 6.1
and giving that a try ....
