Hello, Newbie to Linux here. We are suffering a Denial of Service attack in the form of ICMP Directed Broadcast (Smurf attack). I've set up a ICMP in-filter (port 7) on our router and that helped for a day or so. Now the attacks are back and the only machine that responds and propogates the echo is our Red Hat Linux 6.0 box. iptraf says that IP Masquerading is on - how do I turn it off? Any other daemons or software that I can configure so that the box doesn't reply to a broadcast echo?? any help will be much appreciated. TIA Adam Dennis adam@tcp.net.au
