You may have problems if the video is an ATI chipset.  You require a just 
released Xfree86 ATI update.  I don't know if Caldera 2.3 has this update or 
not.

I installed Caldera 2.2 on a PC Chips computer with a 4 meg S3 video card.  
Worked great.
