Well, wondered if nayone out there knows the answer to this....I just recompiled my kernel.....everything seemed to go well, I am using SuSE 6.2....during the final phase of the compilation, it said my kernel was too large...well, it was just the way I wanted it, so I used the commands for imaging a large kernel.....here is where things get a little weird.....the order of the instructions was ambiguous, so I accidentally reinitialized LILO before making the packages and installing them.....well, I figured they still had to be made, so I got them all made and installed....and then I was thinking, "Well, these are now part of the kernel now, so I want to make sure that the now-modified kernel is installed properly..." so ran the LILO config *again* And it seemed to take.....now, the question is, are all of my packages now properly installed in the kernel, or do I have to backtrack a little somehow?
