I recently downloaded and compiled the Xfree3.3.5 server and had the Xfree3.3.3 server before it. It seemed to compile ok with the make world except I noticed in the world.log file some places that said "warning: ANSI C forbids braced-groups within expressions.". After I compiled it I started running the server and it was bringing up KDE as I expected and was running at 1024X768 in 256 color mode. I couldn't get the color depth to increase beyond 256 colors even when I specified -bpp 16 or -bpp 24. When I rebooted later the system hung-up at "Starting X Font Server:" And wouldn't continue booting beyond there. So I had to use "init=/bin/sh" to get into my system now and tried running "xfs" from within just this shell and it locked up as well. What can I do to remove this xfs(X Font Server) from my bootup and how can I get X-windows up and running properly. Tony
