I have setup a PPP connection on my masq server but periodically it gets shutdown due to length of call or other reasons. Due to this I have been running 'ping' to ping my ISP's DNS. This process works great but I have lately been realizing that ping uses up enormous processor resources and was wondering if there is a way to ping out every 30-60 seconds instead of all the time?? Any ideas would be welcome. Jeffrey D. Means meaje@bigfoot.com
