I am using Caldera Openlinux 2.2.

I have an Expert99 video card which is based on the same rage 128 chipset.  It 
also crashes when probed and will not function in generic mode.  The same 
installation functioned perfectly when I changed the video card to a basic S3 
Virge card with 4 meg. For the rage card to work someone has to come up with an 
updated module that works with the appropriate registers and commands used by 
the card.

My yamaha XG sound card worked right away with no additional setup.  It is 
probably something simple why yours did not function.

If anyone knows of a fix for the rage 128 problem, I would also appreciate an 
email to let me know where to find it.
