Hi, We are currently running Red Hat 6 and have found that you can have a usernames longer than 8 characters in length. What are the pros and cons of using usernames longer than 8 characters? Does it create any security problems? Do other Linux distributions also support longer user names? Does all server software work with the longer username? Regards Stewart
