Hey all I am having trouble with my linux box. On this machine there is a dual boot between win98/linux. Default boot is linux , what happened today in the morning is, this other guy in the office started the machine, it booted to linux he didnt understand what happened so he rebooted it manually...or just switched the power off.... So now when linux tries to bootup and mount the filesystem in read/write mode it says "file system errors on hdb1(thats my linux native) check forced. Well somehow it aint able to clear the problem, it asks me for the 'root password for maintainence' or 'ctrl-d' for normal startup. If i give in the root password it logs me in, in read mode only....and if I press ctrl-d it doesnt do anything, but gives another series of errors and reboots...so now im kinda stuck ! Is there a way to fix this problem ? maybe by logging in my root and fixing something ? I can use all the help I get Thanks in advance. Nivesh
