red hat 6.0 printer problem

I just installed red hat 6.0 and now the printer isn't working.  I get an
error message that says the job was sent to the queue but lpr was unable to
start the daemon.  I can print directly to the port.  I've restarted the lpd
daemon, but the error message is still there.  The printer is a HP DeskJet
672C and is supported by linux.  I've had no problems printing with red hat
5.2.
