I tried to install Linux on my second computer. I deleted my partitions and created a new partition. I had a completely clean 1 gigabyte hard drive with only one partition, a primary DOS partition. I installed Linux Mandrake from a CDROM disk that was in a Linux magazine that I purchased. I could not do anything properly because I did not know how to use UNIX commands. I decided to get rid of linux and reinstall win 98. I tried to delete the partitions using FDISK from my win 98 startup disk. I couldn't do it. My win 98 startup disk indicated that my hard drive was partitioned into a Primary and extended DOS Partition. When I try to delete the extended partition I get a message "cannot delete extended partition while logical drives exist." When I try to delete the logical drives I get two messages. The first says "no logical drives defined", the second message says "all logical drives deleted in extended DOS partition". I go back to trying to delete the extended partition and I get the same old message, "cannot delete extended partition while logical drives exist." Any ideas? All help will be appreciated. Thank you, Richard
