Hello, Redhat is very good at searching out your current hardware. Though 5.1 lacks a bunch of stuff and probably should never have been released due to tall of the Security holes it does Detect 99.9999% of your hardware without problem. However what you will need to do if using generica hardware and it sounds like you are is find out all the information you can regarding your video card, but only if you plan on running X-Windows.
