I'm not sure, i think it depends on the distribution of Linux you have
(still learning the ropes myself hehe) but in re to the sound card on the
motherboard, try running the setup file and selecting the sound config
option, (it detected mine anyway)
As for the other, I'm sorry to say i can't help, sorry
